Policies
Admission-Parents are encouraged to come to my home with their child or children. The child may participate with the group while an interview can be carried on with the parents.
Please contact me in advance of your intent to visit.
Termination-Parents/Guardians should give one week's notice as to their intent to terminate the enrollment of any child.
Age Groups-I will provide care for children from 6 weeks and up.
Infant Care- I will provide juice, cereal and baby wipes. Parents must provide diapers and formula/baby food.
Management of Behavior- I aim to provide a safe, caring and stimulating play environment for all the children. All good behavior will be recognized and praised. Adults will intervene and redirect activities/play in order to avoid disagreements developing that children cannot handle. Children are, however, given the time, space and support to try to resolve conflict themselves. Physical punishment is never used. Physical aggression will not be tolerated. Misbehavior will be dealt with by adult intervention to resolve the conflict and/or by "time out" and discussion of the incident or behavior. This discussion will help the children to understand why certain behavor is unacceptable, the reasons why the behavior occurred and how to deal with the after effects of the behavior. It will always be clear that it is the behavior that is not welcome and not the child.
